DAY 10

DAY 10 — The Lord knew what he was doing when he designed each of us. Pray that each person would faithfully play their part for the function of the whole body.

ROMANS 12:4-8

For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

When Moses was leading the people of Israel while in the wilderness, his father-in-law told him that his way of leading would end in burnout. Moses then put leaders over thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens because it is not suitable for one man to do it on his own (Ex. 18:13-27). As we continue to prepare for what is coming, everyone must be unified in the mission and vision. If people begin to grow disconnected, distant, or uninvested, we will reap a smaller harvest. We are all members of the same body, and we need each member playing their part for the body to function appropriately. Ask the Lord what role you play in unifying the body. Pray for the Lord to bind the family together in the same mind and heart.

  1. Pray the Scripture

    • First, Read the Scripture aloud and pray the exact words back to God. Second, go back through it verse by verse, and in your own words pray to God based on the words in Scripture. Third, take notes of what God revealed to you in that time.

  2. Value Silence

    • Sometimes we may run out of words to say, or maybe you are someone that cannot stop talking to God. In either case, we need to grow comfortable with sitting and growing quiet to hear from the Lord. Remember to rest in God’s presence so that you can hear Him when he speaks to you.

  3. Take Notes

    • In your time of prayer, write down what is you are praying for so that you can look back to see what God did. Also, write down what God is revealing to you. We like to think we will remember everything, but humans are pretty forgetful beings.
